I've always been a dog person. I had one named Pooki when I was 4 years old, and he unfortunately died in December 2022.
One day, on July 12, 2026, my dad told me that one of his friends was giving away a kitten. She was originally for my little brother (5 years old), but he never really took much interest in her.
I wasn't really expecting to have a pet in the house anytime soon, especially a cat. I figured I'd give her a chance and see what happens.
I didn't expect much from it as my dad told me she would be a cat that will go outside and never step in the house.
On the first night, I went outside just to hang out with her and she directly jumped into me to cuddle and that's when I really started to like Samy.
On July 14, 2026, Samy apparently followed me all the way to the bus stop I use to go to school. I didn't realize she was behind me. After I got on the bus, she was left alone. She disappeared, and for the next few days, we had no idea where she was and just thought she ran away.
Then on July 18, 2026, we got extremely lucky.
My dad mentioned to my brother's daycare teacher that we had lost our kitten a few days earlier. She told him that she had found a kitten near the daycare, and that she brought her home, not knowing it was ours. She showed my dad a few pictures of the cat.
It was Samy.
She had been safe the whole time.
Now she's a cat that will stay indoors, and she's part of my everyday life. She usually sleeps on my laps whenever I am coding, walking across my table, or following me around the house. She has became my cat.
I'm super glad I gave Samy a chance. I love this little cuddler so much.

Samy is estimated to be 4 months old as of July 12, 2026. Her birthday will be celebrated on the day we got her, July 12.
